WIN: Kathleen Falk for Wisconsin governor

WI unions are backing Kathleen Falk
By Doug Cunningham

Kathleen Falk is one of three announced Democratic contenders to take on Republican Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin’s recall election, expected to happen in May or early June.

The recall against Walker was triggered by his elimination of public worker collective bargaining rights. Endorsed by public worker unions like the Wisconsin Education Association Council, AFSCME and SEIU,

Falk is pledging to veto Wisconsin’s budget bill if elected governor unless it restores public worker collective bargaining.

Kathleen Falk  stated:

The only bill that has to pass the legislature is the budget bill. That is why Governor Walker eliminated workers’ rights through a budget repair bill. And that’s the way you restore ‘em. And unless you’re willing to say you’re willin’ to go to the mat like I am, then you don’t have the leverage to get these bargaining rights restored.

Falk says there are a range of other vital issues from the environment to education and health care in the recall election againstWisconsin’s governor. And Falk says she believes its important to let voters know before they vote exactly what she stands for when it comes to collective bargaining and other issues.

Falk added:

And that’s why I have been open, honest, transparent about what I will do and how I will do it because that’s what you’re supposed to do in campaigns. You’re supposed to tell people not only what you stand for, but how you will get it done. And don’t we know from this past year that we’ve had the opposite from Governor Walker, who was not honest with us voters.
