During their school’s NCAA Tournament game against Kansas State University today, members of the Southern Mississippi University band chanted, “Where’s your green card?” at a Kansas State player from Puerto Rico.
This band should be censured for their conduct. There is no room for this in sports at all.
Of course, Puerto Rico is a US protectorate and Puerto Ricans have most of the rights US citizens have. People form the PR can freely move about in the US.
Puerto Ricans don't need Green Cards not do they need to speak English to become a state as Rick Santorum stated when he visited the island.
