DEBKAfile: Iranian missiles can reach US?

DEBKAfile published some shameess propaganda today about Iran:

Iran has completed the development of a nuclear weapon and awaits nothing more than a sign from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to start assembling its first nuclear bomb, said Israeli Military Intelligence Chief Major General Aviv Kochavi on Thursday, February 2.

The article went on:

Also Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Yaalon disclosed that the big blast at the Iranian missile base near Tehran last November blew up a new missile system with a range of 10,000 kilometers (6200 miles) capable of targeting the United States.

Google Earth reckons it's 11,785 km (7323 miles) from the centre of the lower 48 to the centre of Iran. If Iran positioned its missile on its Western border, it might be able to hit the US east coast on the edge of this theoretical missile's range,

However, Wikipedia does not show such a long range ICBM missile in the Iranian inventory.

The most long distance missile Iran has is the Shahab-3 which has a 2000 km range at best. This missile is a copy of North Korea's Nodong (aka Rodong) missile – otherwise known to NATO as the Scud-D which was developed in 1989 and is a Russian export missile.

A bigger issue is Iranian intent. Would the Iranians attack the US and risk nuclear obliteration?

This in unlikely. The development of an Iranian nuclear cabability threatens Israeli nuclear supremacy in the middle east.

It as simple as that!
