Costco: Mock NY Strip Steak recipe

The meat look similar to this when you buy a package of the chuck short ribs.

Rightardia buys most of our groceries and office supplies form Costco in Clearwater, FL. It is massive new store with wide aisles. It has just about anything you would need for your office or home in on place.

We have made no secret of our admiration for Costco.

Costco has excellent meat and produce. If you want to have an inexpensive steak dinner for six or seven people, try the Costco beef chuck short ribs boneless (USDA choice). One package costs about $17 and contains six or seven strips of beef.

We call the recipe, Mock NY Strip Steak:

  1. first hammer the meat on a wood cutting board to about one inch thick. The hammered meat will look like a NY strip steak after a  minute or less. Hammer both sides.
  2. Season the beef with you favorite seasoning. Rightardia prefers Greek seasoning and some Mrs. Dash.
  3. Baste with olive oil
  4. Cook on each side for 7 to 8 minutes on a grill or under a broiler.
Rightardia uses a meat thermometer and serves the beef when the steaks reach 150 degrees. Season with salt after cooking. We do not put salt on meat prior to cooking because it makes the beef tougher.

Enjoy. Most people will think they are eating a NY strip.

We won't tell if you don't.
