Probably the most important thing an auto owner can do is to check the anti-freeze in the radiator. If the concentration is too low, the engine block can be damaged or destroyed, a costly proposition.
You may want to replace an older battery, too. An old battery won't be able to crank and turn the starter motor in cold weather.
