Newt calls Obama the "food stamp" president
Newt Gingrich took a lot of heat on this comments and many commentators suggested his utterances were racially coded.
Food stamps a bed rock welfare program. Without food stamps millions of Americans would go hungry. No American with a sense of compassion or justice would attack this program or a president on this issue.
Food Stamps also enjoy a multiplier effect for every federal dollar spent. Moody's Analytics found that food stamps return $1.74 for every dollar spent why many tax cuts only generate 30 cents. Most tax cuts are break even at best.
The GOP didn't like Mark Zandi's tax cut table because it showed their ideas on tax cuts to be bogus (bull shit) and even acused Zanmdi of being partisan. Zandi had been an economic adviser on the 2008 McCain campaign.
It's hard to fool Republicans with the facts!
Six of the top 10 states that issue food stamps at the highest rates are are Red States according to the Huffington Post.
Mississippi is the top user of food stamps in the US. South Carolina is number 10.
