Obama signs law making Pi precisely 3.00

Congresswoman Martha Roby, a former school teacher (R-AL), sponsored HR 205, The Geometric Simplification Act.

Her act, declares the Euclidean mathematical constant of pi to be precisely 3.

Ater strenuous debate in the Senate the origin of irrational numbers and mathematical constants, the Democratic Party caved in and approved the bill for a compromise continuing budget resolution so the government could continue to operate.

The bill comes in response to data and rankings from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, which rated the United States' 15 year-olds 25th in the world in mathematics.

President Obama was reluctant to sign the bill saying it was intellectually dishonest, but necessary for the good of the country.

White House staffers indicate Obama signed the bill with his right hand. The ACLU has promised to challenge the new law in the Supreme Court.
