United Auto Workers President Bob King says workers everywhere must rise up against a coordinated national attack on collective bargaining rights for workers.
The UAW and allies will rally in Lansing March 14th to protest Michigan Republican Governor Synder taking away collective bargaining rights for 70,000 home health care workers. The UAW is also protesting a slash and burn budget in Michigan that takes from working families and gives to the rich and corporations.
King: “There is an agenda, there’s a strategy, bein’ done across America by the Republican Party to destroy the middle class in America.
And if we don’t stand up and fight this – whether it’s in Michigan or Wisconsin, Ohio or any other state in the union we’re not gonna have a middle class. We’re not gonna have workers havin’ the democratic right to freedom of association, freedom of speech, And that’s what bein’ a union is part of. We believe very strongly that budgets are moral documents. Don’t say that you care about families and then pass budgets that destroy families.
