The attack seems to be the work of hackers looking for documents related to the G20 economic group. The G20 brings together 20 major nations tasked with stablizing the global economy and which is being hosted by France this year.
More than 150 computers in the French ministry are reported to have been compromised. So far 10,000 computers ahve been shut down.
Paris Match magazine said that some of the hacked information was redirected to sites in China.
