Rightardia uses a Flip camera to record a video

Rightardia got a Flip Camera as a gift for the holidays. The particular model is the Flip Ultra HD which costs under $100 and can can produce 720P HD videos. The video camera is made by Cisco systems and is about the size of a cell phone.

Rightardia has a small salt-water reef tank in the office, so we took out first video of the tank using a tripod. We were impressed with the quality. The camera has a 3X zoom feature.

Salt-water tanks are more interesting than freshwater because of all the invertebrates that thrive in them such as shrimp, crabs, snails, anemones, corals and sponges.

The three fish are a clown fish, a royal gorami and a six line wrasse.

Cleaner shrimp have long feelers like a cat and are are very colourful.

This camera also records audio but we wish it had a jack for a lapel microphone.

Also, you will need to purchase a cable with a mini-HDMI connector on one end and a normal HDMI connector on the other end if you want to display your  videos on your HDTV.
