As voters begin to focus on he November election with the struggling economy topmost in our minds, what are the facts about jobs creation under Democratic and Republican presidents?
According to the U.S. Labor Department nearly twice as many jobs per year are created under Democratic presidents as under Republicans. In 36 years Democratic presidents created an average of more than 1.7 million jobs per year.
Thirty-eight years worth of Republican presidencies created just over 900,000 a year on average.
The economy under Democrat Bill Clinton alone created 22.7 million jobs, a number equal to those created by GOP Presidents Reagan and both Bush’s.
Rightardia has pointed out the Republican presidents have always touted productivity over employment and consider the affluent to be the 'most productive members of society." In the Republican world, the teachers, police and fire fighters that are the backbone of the American infrastructure are less important.
Of course, Karl Rove will then talk to you about "class warfare." He should know. the GOP has mastered class warfare for years.
