The U.S. Defense Department’s annual report on China’s military has drawn fire from Chinese officials, who say the Pentagon report exaggerates China’s military power and downplays its more peaceful intentions.
Rightrdia has noticed the Chinese want to produce their own weapons systems and are less dependent on the Russians for aircraft and tanks.
The Chinese have developed a version of the The Dongfeng missile which can use satellite guidance to attack aircraft carriers.
This could bring the predominance of the aircraft carrier on the high seas to an end and make the US defense of Taiwan impossible.
Of course, the US Defense Department uses assumed threats like the Dongfeng missile to justify massive increases in defense spending.
