Anne Coulter is key note speaker for 'Homocon' Gay Conservative event

Conservative pundit Ann Coulter is set to headline the first annual Homocon, "a party to celebrate gay conservatives." The event is sponsored by GOProud, the "only national organization representing gay conservatives." The event is scheduled to take place in New York City on September 25.

"The gay left has done their best to take all the fun out of politics, with their endless list of boycotts and protests. Homocon is going to be our annual effort to counter the 'no fun police' on the left," said Christopher Barron, Chairman of the Board of GOProud, in a statement.

I can't think of any conservative more fun to headline our inaugural party then the self-professed 'right-wing Judy Garland' - Ann Coulter.

"I can promise you, Homocon 2010 will be a hell of a lot more fun than chaining yourself to the White House fence," Baron pledged, making light of an incident earlier this year where gay soldiers protesting the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy chained themselves to the gates of the White House.

In choosing Coulter, the organizers of GOProud appear willing to ignore her past transgressions against the gay community. The conservative pundit was condemned by gay-rights groups in 2007 when she notoriously called then-Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards a "faggot."

And earlier this year, Coulter railed against "irritating lesbian" Constance McMillen for challenging the sanctimony of heterosexual-only proms.

It is not surprising that Anne Coulter is the keynote speakers at a gay Republican event. There have been rumors about her sexuality for many years. Many Republicans are hypocritical about thier sexuality and denounce gays and lesbians because they prefer life in the closet.

Homosexuality does not fit well in the conservative box that is inhabited by evangelicals and fundamentalist Christians. Conservapedia recently stated this about the homosexual wing of the GOP, the Log Cabin Republicans:

There is virtually no difference between the Log Cabin Republicans' assault on Christian values within the GOP and that of the ACLU or any number of other anti-christian groups in America.

From promoting gay marriage to participating in pornographic gay pride parades, the Log Cabin Republicans defy every moral concept articulated in Christian Conservative circles.

Why do the Log Cabin Republicans even maintain membership within the Republican Party?

Look to the termite and the answer is clear. Like the termite, the Log Cabin Republicans have targeted an already existing structure, built by human hands, from which they can feed their political appetite and agenda. The aftermath, much like the resulting effect on a house after termites have had their way, is a destroyed conservative Republican Party. In effect, the Log Cabin Republicans are the best friends that socialist Democrats like liberal Congressman Barney Frank and Senator Ted Kennedy have ever had.

Truly, the Log Cabin Republicans have earned the well-deserved title of being named America's Political Termites.
