Why Republicans will lose in 2010

The answer is simple: conservatives disrespect anyone who is somewhat different from them. This includes women,  the educated, Hispanics, blacks, Jews, Muslims and the non-affiliated: agnostics, atheists and non-believers.

First, if you don't buy the biblical role of women or conservative  Pro-Life values, you must be a femi-Nazi.

The GOP politicians in the Florida statehouse and US Senate even interceded in the court case of Terri Schaivo and tried to prevent a hopelessly brain damaged person from dying. That's what Rush Limbaugh and the other drones in right wing media believe. Conservatives believe they can  can control the bodies of women through the US Justice system.

Republicans have been attacking the public school system and college professors for years. Many conservatives consider a person with education to be tainted.

The right wing also attacked Hispanics about immigration in the last election and are now falling all over themselves because Spain won the FIFA World Cup.  Conservatives are making racist comments about Mexican ancestry and calling soccer a socialist sport.

Of course, soccer was invented in ancient China and played during the Roman era, thousands of years before Karl Marx. In addition, the Spanish didn't pass miscegenation laws like the people in the South did. Racism has never been as problematic in Central and South America as it has been in the US.

The Plantation Owners in the South never had problems with blacks when they owned them. Once blacks got uppity and left the plantation, black Americans experienced the continuous enmity of conservatives.

Jews and Muslims have also been profiled by conservatives with the basest stereotypes. People from both of these religions voted overwhelmingly for Obama in the last election.

Approximately 16 per cent of Americans are non-affiliated with churches. This includes non-believers, atheists, agnostic and the uninterested. All of these groups conservatives dismiss comprise the majority of the US population:

women--50.9 per cent
college grads, bachelors degree or higher--25.4 per cent
Non-affiliated --16 per cent
Hispanics--15.4 per cent
Blacks--12.8 per cent
Jews and Muslims-2--3 per cent

If the Democratic party can get these groups to the polls in 2010, we can win the next election cycle. Obama must re-energize this base of people to win.

Democrats have not shown any disrespect for any of these groups and will not have to apologize for the numerous slurs we have heard form GOP politicians, conservative media and Tea Partiers.

The unemployed could also have a big impact on the next election. Obama needs to get the party started.
