USENET is full of fascists, cranks and shills, but the right wing takes the cake.
Rightardia posts hyperlinks and one of two line summaries of its articles on USENET which may have a broad appeal. Lately an assortment of right wing shills, pimps and whores has been spamming the brief posts by claiming Rightardia is un-American or conning for clicks on advertising.
Actually, we haven't seen ads on the site except public service for quite a while and don't write articles to make advertising revenues. Even when we were rated as a top 5,000 web site by Netcraft, the advertising revenues were marginal. Fortunately we have some great sponsors form the Left Coast, DC and New York who pay for our operating expenses.
The right wingers recently thought they discovered who owns Rightardia and published the name, address and phone number of some old man who lives in Florida. The wingnuts invited people to the "owners house' for a fake party and even said that 'Negroes' were invited. Rightardia hasn't heard of black people referred to as 'Negroes' since the 1960s.
What a laugher! Do they really think some old Florida geezer publishes the Rightardia blog?
We assume the "Rightardia party' was uneventful because we got no calls or emails about it. We have a both an email address and phone number for Rightardia posted on home page of our blog.
We know that the right wing public relations attack what they consider the radicals first because they are considered the the most dangerous. Once they have eliminated the uncompromising radicals, the PR problems disappears. Apparently conservatives find our web site worrisome.
That is good news for Rightardia. That means we are doing our job or no one would be paying attention to us.
Rightardia doesn't consider our progressive blog radical. We do use a lot of international news to counter right wing media and even main stream media.
We think Obama has gone 'centrist' but it doesn't seem to be helping him with independents. It is hurting him with his base and he recently dodged an NEA conference because he would have been jeered. This is sad for a former college professor. The president of the NEA said this wasn't the 'hope and change' we wanted.
We also wonder when Florida Democrat Alex Sink will start campaigning for governor. We hope it is soon. The Democrats should be able to take the governorship and the state house back due to the dire economic conditions in Florida and the Gulf coast disaster.
