NAACP not backing off Tea Party racism charges

(July 18) NAACP President Ben Jealous says tea party supporters like Sarah Palin need to publicly condemn racist behavior among some of the group's members.

The civil rights organization accused tea party activists Tuesday of tolerating bigotry.

The National Tea Party Federation has expelled conservative commentator and Tea Party Express spokesman Mark Williams today over a fictional letter Williams wrote on his blog last week. His racist letter was from "Colored People" to Abraham Lincoln.

The NAACP is essentially calling out the GOP on racism because there is little difference between the GOP and the Tea Party.

The Tea Party is really a front for the GOP.  It was needed because conservatives were unhappy with the Republican Party after the 2008 election defeat.
