Whitopia: Only 45 per cent of Americans satisfied with their jobs
The job satisfaction numbers have been dropping for years. first of all wages were flat for the past decade. Pension plans have been replaced with 401K savings plans. Corporations no longer have to provide health insurance after a retiree becomes Medicare eligible.
The chanches of retiring from a corporation after 30 years are slim next to none. Large corporations are notoriously cruel to employees and usually kick workers to the street when they get close to retirement age.
And then there is the off shoring of jobs and those cheap foreign workers on H1B visas. We have a vanishing Whitopia.
