The decade of zero economic gains for the typical American family can be blamed primarily on the Republicans and its deficit spending while concurrently cutting taxes for the most affluent Americans.
America has become a warfare society in which 25 per cent of the GDP is spent on defense and little is invested in the US infrastructure in the last 20 of 29 years that the GOP has held the US presidency.
The Bush Ownership society was supposed to give more Americans home ownership. Because of deregulation, an SEC rules change in 2004 that cut Wall Street bank reserve requirements and a willingness to look the other way for predatory lending practices, Americans now own fewer homes than they did in 2000.
Why should you vote Democratic? Because Republicans are evil. The Democrats are the lessor of evil.
