Health Care debate will open on Senate floor after 60-39 vote



Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.) appeared Saturday to secure the 60 votes needed to move an $848 billion health-care reform bill to the Senate floor for debate. The the last two holdouts in his Democratic caucus said they will not join in a Republican filibuster.The vote at around 8 pm EST was 60-39, which prevented the bill from being filibustered.

Now the serous health care debate begins on the floor of the Senate.
