Father of AK-47 turns 90

His name is synonymous with the assault rifle that appears on national flags and remains unsurpassed for durability and reliability. Mikhail Kalashnikov marks his 90th birthday with millions putting their faith in his invention the AK-47. Kalashnikov did not patent his design and lives on a small pension in Moscow. The Russians are now licensing the AK product line.
