A message from Alex Sink: They're Calling it a Toss-up

It has been a busy and exciting summer since I announced my candidacy for Governor of Florida a few months ago. I have traveled the state meeting voters and gathering grassroots support from Jacksonville, Orlando, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Naples and many places in between.

Everywhere I go people tell me that they are concerned about paying tuition, keeping the car running and paying the household bills. Everyone is looking for solutions. I know that my years of business experience have prepared me to lead in these unique times of economic crisis.

My opponent is a career politician. This is his 14th campaign in 32 years. No surprise: his name recognition is high. He is touting endorsements from right-wing Republicans from all across the state.

This week a nationally respected independent agency ruled our race as a pure toss up. This is good news as polls indicate that many Floridians remain undecided, despite his high name recognition. We are in a very tough fight - a fight for Florida's future. With your help, I can continue to meet the people of Florida and change the toss up to a solid win!

As the campaign heats up and as I have the opportunity to meet more and more voters, we are confident we'll be in a position to win the Governor's race and put Florida back on track. Our success depends on your continued support.

Rigtardia comment: Florida is fraught with problems: foreclosures after homes dropped more than 40 per cent in value, unemployment at 10.8 per cent, and the lay-offs of thousands of teachers, police and fire fighters. More people are leaving Florida than arriving. This is after 11 years of GOP 'leadership.' Alex Sink is an exciting compared to the lacklustre Republican, Bill McCollum.
