Robert McNamara was a prime architect of the Vietnam War. He has said that the Domino Theory was the main reason for entering the Vietnam War. When the US withdrew from Vietnam, the Vietnamese got into a a border war with China. Nearly 60,000 US servicemen died in the war and more than 150,000 were wounded. McNamara later admitted the war was a mistake. It is unlikely you will ever hear a similar admission from Republicans about the Iraq War.
