Buzz Politics 3.6: Super Tuesday Will Be Super For Romney

Super Tuesday will give Mitt Romney the push he needs to become, once and for all, the presumptive Republican nominee despite expected wins for Newt Gingrich in Georgia and for Rick Santorum in perhaps Tennessee. Even Ron Paul might finally win a state. But it won't matter.

Gingrich Admits His Big SC Debate Moment Was Untrue: Political Buzz 1.26

Newt Gingrich pretty much won South Carolina with his defiant aggressive answer to John King's question about Newt's second wife's claim that he wanted an open marriage.

But now the Gingrich campaign admits the candidate lied about providing witnesses to ABC. Not good as he slides in the Florida polls behind Mitt Romney.

Political Buzz 1.18: Romney Digs Deeper Hole On Taxes, Palin Endorses Gingrich (Sort Of)

Mitt Romney's now says he will release at least one year of his tax returns but it may not help him repair the damage from admitting he pays a 15% rate and saying he "didn't make much" from speeches -- $374,000. Add in Newt Gringrich grabbing a (sort of) endorsement from Sarah Palin and the South Carolina Primary may be a barn burner.

Political Buzz 12.29: Iowa Polls All Over the Place So Ignore Them

The CNN/Time Poll has Rick Santorum surging and Mitt Romney claiming a lead. The PPP Poll puts Ron Paul in first. The Insider Advantage Poll has a three-way tie for first.

What's going on? A ridiculous effort to figure out what elusive, easily-swayed Iowa Caucus goers are going to do.

Rightardia is inclined to beleive the PPP Poll because it contacted independents whereas the CNN poll did not. Jay DeDapper is right that polls work better in primaries than in caucuses.

Ego Overload: Newt Gingrich Meets Donald Trump, Political Buzz 12.5

Who's got the bigger ego? Tough call when Newt Gingrich meets with Donald Trump.

But the bigger question is why the Republican candidates other than Ron Paul think making a pilgrammage to a ridiculous reality show host is important or necessary.

This is no way for the GOP to show it's serious.

Buzz 60: Gingrich to win Iowa caucus and then fade away

Buzz 60 predicts Newt will win the Iowa caucus and then fade away. Rightardia agrees.

First of all a caucus is not particularly democratic. Eash candidate gets their supporters in designated rooms at a specific time and date and a count ensues. The person who get the most supporters out wins.

Rightardia also saw a Science Daily study that indicated the early primaries have about five times the impact they should. Brian Knight and Nathan Schiff found:

Voters in states with early primary races such as Iowa and New Hampshire have up to five times the influence of voters in later states in selcting presidential candidates, according to research by Brown University economist Brian Knight. 

Knight and Schiff added:

"Evidence that early voters have a disproportionate influence over the selection of candidates violates 'one person-one vote' -- a democratic ideal on which our nation is based.
