Reuters: Gingrich's private ventures are going bankrupt

Callista, Newt Gingrich's wife, was opposed to Newt running for president and he had to take her on a luxury cruse to Greece to change her mind.

During his presidential campaign, Newt restarted it with two new campaign staffs and suspended his campaign when it was $4.3 million in debt. This was one of a string of campaigns he had left in the red.

Newt was hoping for a third resurrection and so were the Democrats. The Democratic Party knew this "has been" would be an easy mark in the general election.

In advertising, one of the tenets is no never advertise a bad product. Such products will sell initially and then sales will decline rapidly.

This is what Rightardia think happened to Newt. We also suspect some of his sponsors and donors may have decided to spend their contributions on the new super PACS,
.
Toward the end of the campaign, Newt was even trying to sell the list of his campaign contributors to raise cash which is pathetic.

Newt got what he deserved. Callista was right. he should have never run for president.

Cat Fight: Meghan McCain calls Callista a mistress

Meghan McCain argued on MSNBC Tuesday that Callista Gingrich is damaging her husband's presidential primary campaign.

McCain added that Callista  is "a mistress" and has an "icy" personality.

McCain has some valid points. The Tiffany's scandal arose because Newt bought jewelry for Callista to mollify her. Callista didn't want Newt to run for president. 

Newt also had to take a luxury cruise to Greece in April to keep his marraige from going tango uniform. His former campaign advisors were against the trip for obvious reasons. 

In Newt's case, money can apparently buy him love. 

Besides the political problems that Newt has, America does not need a first family with marital difficulties.

Newt: I can't handle a Jaguar right now

"I can't handle a Jaguar right now.All I want is a Chevrolet."

Newt Gingrich said that to the minister who was  brought in to counsel him and his second wife before they divorced. Newt wanted his ex-wife  to just tolerate the affair with Callsita.  She refused. 

He'd just returned from Erie, Pennsylvania, where he'd given a speech about compassion and family values.

His ex  said, "How do you give that speech and do what you're doing?"

Newt responded: 

It doesn't matter what I do. People need to hear what I have to say. There's no one else who can say what I can say. It doesn't matter what I live.

The Jag quote is curous and suggests Newt considered his second wife as the Chevy.

The "no one else" comment suggests Newt has a monster ego. No surprises there!

Huffington Post: Remember Newt's Tiffany's account?

A new political book, by Real Clear Politics' Tom Bevan and Carl Cannon explains why Newt Gingrich had $500,000 expense account from Tiffany's Jewelers. He bought his wife off with jewelry. Callista had been against a presidential run.

Campaign staff Dave Carney and Rob Johnson left Newt Gingrich because Rick Perry was getting ready to run for president himself. The two did not like Newt's wife, Callista, either.

"She's the single worst influence on a candidate I've ever seen," one "campaign strategist" told Bevan and Cannon. This same source said that Gingrich used the Tiffany's credit account to purchase a necklace reportedly worth six figures:


to 'buy Callista off' so she'd acquiesce to a presidential run."

Gingrich's former aides said that the former House Speaker from Georgia ignored their advice not to go on a luxury cruise to the Greek islands in late May.

However, Newt feared damage to, or even the loss of, his marriage to his third wife. Newt married her during a six year extra-martial affair.  Callista was 22 years his junior.

"In Newt's mind, it was the cruise or his marriage. And he didn't want to get married a fourth time," said a source identified by Cannon and Bevan as "a person with knowledge of the discussions."
