Ford recalled 135,000 F-150 pickup trucks, because the driver’s air bag may inadvertently deploy. This affected vehicles were manufactured in 2005 and 2006.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has called for 10 times as many vehicles to be recalled.
The agency says its investigation into 1.3 million F-150s revealed a significant number of incidents involving inadvertent air-bag deployments. In fact, The F-150 had the largest such number “in NHTSA history.”
