Tax scofflaw get three years in prison

Wesley Snipes is heading to prison. Snipes will serve three years behind bars after losing his appeal on a conviction of tax evasion. Snipes had dodged a mandatory 10 year sentence for tax evasion.

Snipes had believed wingnut tax advisers who told him that Income tax was unconstitutional. Ignorance fo the law is no excuse.

Snipes failed to pay $15 million dollars in taxes, according to the Daily Beast, and was arrested in 2008 for tax evasion. Snipes filed an appeal, saying that his tax advisers convinced him that there was no law binding him to pay the taxes, and that his sentence was “unreasonable.”

The court upheld their original decision, and sentenced Snipes to three years behind bars.
