Jim DeMint, R- S.C., suggests that the GOP has all of these good ideas that Democrats have been killing. Wait a minute, the GOP had control of the House, the Senate and the presidency for six of the last eight years. Why didn't it fix health care when the GOP had the chance?
The simple answer is the GOP made US health care another corporate bitch that produced big profits for the insurance industry. Republicans liked the status quo.

The Senate is where the big battle on US health care will be. Senate Republicans do not want private enterprise to have competition from public health care.
