She's back: Former Miss California USA sues pageant officials

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Carrie Prejean has filed a lawsuit against Miss California USA officials who stripped her of her title. She is accusing them of libel and religious discrimination for her views on same-sex marriage.

Carrie Prejean was stripped of her Miss California USA title earlier this year after contract violations were reported.

"We will make the case that her title was taken from her solely because of her support of traditional marriage," said her attorney, Charles LiMandri. 

Prejean stepped into controversy at the Miss USA pageant in April due to her response to a question from a judge, Perez Hilton.  She declared her opposition to same-sex marriage and only believed in 'opposite marriage.' Prejean finished as first runner-up.

The complaint was filed in Superior Court of California against Miss California USA officials Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler, as well as publicist Roger Neal.

It alleges that Prejean suffered because of "libel, public disclosure of private facts, religious discrimination, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress."

It is possible that Miss Prejean will be counter sued for contract violations by the Trump organization that owns the Miss USA pageant. Rightardia views the lawsuit as a publicity stunt.

Carrie Prejean's email indicates she was insubordinate

While Carrie Prejean continues to claim she was fired from her position as Miss California USA due to her outspoken politics and position on same-sex marriage, a series of email exchanges published by Fox News suggests an increasingly hostile Prejean was corresponding with Miss California director Keith Lewis.

The emails give credence to pageant officials' claims that she was disrespectful and uncooperative. Shanna Moakler tried to communicate with Prejean for a couple of hours before the Trump press conference in which “the Donald” announced Miss Prejean would retain her Miss California title.

Shanna Moakler, the reality star, resigned as an executive co-director with the Miss USA California organization.

Moakler was upset by Trump's decision to let Miss California keep her crown despite numerous contract violations.

Moakler, a proponent of gay rights, said she could no longer associate with the pageant because of Prejean's comments and Trump's decision.

"I feel that at this time it is in my best interest to resign from the Miss California USA organization," she told US Magazine.

Some news people thought Prejean was a 'loose cannon' who would eventually be fired. They were right.

Prejean wrote to Lewis: “I expect you to be forwarding me ALL email requests and interview requests to me. I know how you are and it’s not right if you are selecting things for me. Thanks for your cooperation. And FYI I am a presenter of medals at the Special Olympics in a few weeks for the summer games. So now u know I am doing this and I expect your full support. Also I was asked to fill in for a DJ on a local radio show. I'll be reading from a show biz script Monday. I am doing this.”

When Lewis reiterated politely that she needs to go through proper protocol and provide details so that events can be placed on a master calendar, Prejean responded: “You do not cooperate with me, and you pick and chose the things YOU want me to do. That is not happening anymore. Stop speaking for me. I have MY own voice. What are u gonna do fire me for volunteering for the Special Olympics hahaha ur crazy. No I am doing this appearance. You do not need details. Its for the SPECIAL OLYMPICS!!! You just need to know I will be doing it, alright."

Prejean sounded more a teenager chafing at the rules of her parents.

“But memo to Carrie: You're a pageant queen. Under Donald Trump. Not Che Guevara in a bikini, attempting to overthrow a hostile government through sheer force of will and some great separates from Bebe.”

Prejean should have been more aware of the job requirements before accepting the crown. Or will she become new spokeswoman for 'opposite' employment now that she has been canned? Perhaps getting fired and its attendant publicity blitz is what she wanted all along?

I'm sure she will be popping up on a conservative media soon complaining about how the Godless liberals took away her crown. It's a shame that Donald Trump didn't fire her straight away. But at least Trump got his cojones back after he finally fired her.

I hope Shanna Moakler is doing well. She was the one class act in this sorry story. She should ask for her old job back.
