The many flaws in the new Obama 'Kenyan birth certificate'

The new document has many flaws, documented by the Washington Independent's Dave Weigel and Markos Moulitsas.

Here are some of the flaws:

Kenya was a Dominion the date this certificate was allegedly issued and would not become a republic for another 8 months.

Mombasa belonged to Zanzibar when Obama was born, not Kenya.

Obama's father's village would be nearer to Nairobi, not Mombasa.

The number 47O44-- 47 is Obama's age when he became president, followed by the letter O (not a zero) followed by 44--he is the 44th president.

Was CNN president Jon Klein hoping for an off-screen counselling session with host Lou Dobbs? Klein sent "Lou Dobbs Tonight" staffers an email on Thursday saying that the controversy surrounding the legitimacy of President Obama's birth certificate is a "dead" story.

In the email, Klein elaborated that CNN researchers had determined that Hawaiian officials tossed out paper documents in 2001. Obama's long-form birth certificate no longer exists and a shorter Hawaiian certificate of live birth is the official record.
