Polygamist leader Warren Jeffs is back in court. He threatened that God would strike down all involved should his trial continue. Jeffs is trying to make the case about his religious convictions.
Jeffs is accused of sexually assaulting two girls, one 17 and another younger than 14.
He is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, and could get 99 years to life in prison.
His followers in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a Mormon offshoot, support polygamy and see Jeffs as God's earthly spokesman.
It is curious that conservatives who vociferously oppose homosexual unions, are mute about polygamy and polyandry.
