(Aug. 1)--The Marines are trying to build a case for the controversial Joint Strike Fighter, a multibillion-dollar aircraft marked by cost overruns and delays. The AP'S Sagar Meghani got a look at the high-tech F-35B during a test flight in Maryland.

Rightardia suspects this program will be axed. Without Navy, USAF and Army financial support of this program, the jet has no future. Rightardia doubts that the Marine Corps has the staff skills to pull this program out of the fire.

According to Wikipedia, The United States intended to buy a total of 2,443 aircraft for an estimated US$323 billion, making it the most expensive defense program ever, The fly away cost is estimated to be between $207.6 million to $304.15 million per aircraft.
