Online buying tips

Ebay Purple star () = 500 to 999 ratings

Rightardia has been buying online for many years and has been a Ebay buyer for a long time. In fact, we have a purple star from EBay. If you are looking for something that is hard to find or unusual, EBay is hard to beat.

However, do a price check on Amazon.com first. At least half of the time Amazon will beat the best Ebay price  and the Amazon shipping is more consistent than that from the numerous EBay vendors.

A case in point is the D-Link 825 802.11n wireless router. We got it on Amazon.com with free shipping for $85. Buy it now prices on Ebay started at $100.

This router appears to be the professional version of the D-Link 625 which has dual-band 802.11n wireless router with a top rated firewall. It also accepts  It acceptssDD-WRT third party firmware which provides more security and privacy than manufacturer firmware.

DD-WRT is a Linux based alternative OpenSource firmware suitable for a great variety of WLAN routers and embedded systems. The main emphasis lies on providing the easiest possible handling while at the same time supporting a great number of functionalities within the framework of the respective hardware platform used.

We plan to have our BrightHouse router reconfigured for bridge mode to use with the D-Link router. This will get both the government and corporations out of the Rightardia LAN and WAN.
