Rick Scott Competes With Scott Walker For Most Isolated GOP Governor
Unlike Gov. Scott Walker -- who still retains the backing of Republican office-holders in state -- Scott has engendered the opposition of GOP lawmakers in state and federal office.
And on Monday night, the mayors of three affected cities -- Orlando, Tampa, and Lakeland--gathered privately with the governor to pitch him, once again, (to get him to) accept the plan.
Scott also has met with Senator Ben Nelson twice and two state senators are suing Scott in the State supreme Court with a bi-partisan complaint because of his decision on high speed rail.
Certainly, politics would suggest that Scott should refine his approach to politics. A recent Harris Interactive poll showed 67 percent of Floridians support state or federal funding for high-speed rail, with 17 percent opposed.
