Gallup: Lack of GOP front runner is atypical

PRINCETON, NJ -- The wide-open battle for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination has nearly a three-way tie among Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, and Mitt Romney

This is quite different from the typical pattern observed in past Republican nomination contests.

In Gallup polls since 1952, Republican Party nomination races always featured a clear front-runner at this stage of the campaign, and in almost all cases, that front-runner ultimately won the nomination.

Rightardia doubts if any of the three can defeat Obama.  A common thread among all three is evangelical religion.

Romney is a country clubber who doesn't appeal to the Tea Party and Palin doesn't appeal to the GOP country club crowd. Huckabee won't do well outside of the South and West.

So far Huckabee and Palin don't appear to be in the presidential race.

We think Palin has no chance at all in defeating Obama and hope Huckabee tries to run on his "fair tax" again which is fair if you are a millionaire or billionaire.
