St. Petersburg Times: Alex Sink wins 'worst candidate' honors

Adam C. Smith, Times Political Editor Sunday, December 19, 2010

Alex Sink last week was named the worst candidate of 2010. The 'honor' was courtesy of MSNBC's Savannah Guthrie and Chuck Todd.

It's unbelievable,'' Todd declared. "Think about it: You lost to a guy who defrauded Medicare — in Florida! Okay? More people on Medicare perhaps in the state of Florida per capita than maybe any other state!

Sink dismissed the criticism, saying her campaign came remarkably close to winning, given the Republican wave. She said she ignores the view of someone "who doesn't live in Florida."

Of course, Todd grew up in Miami and his wife is from the Florida Panhandle.

Rightradia thinks that Sink ran an excellent campaign, but the Florida Democratic party used the wrong strategy to defeat Republicans who had controlled Tallahassee for the past 12 years.

Florida Democrats should have run an anti-incumbency campaign and blamed the GOP for the bad Florida economy.

Instead the Democrats allowed FL grifter-elect Rick Scott to blame to Florida's economy on Obama.

No Democrat ever challenged Scott on this assertion. Scott started his campaign by acting as if he running against the president.

Hindsight is always better than foresight, isn't it?
