UK NHS is better than US health care, but not perfect

The UK National Health Care system is ranked 18th in the world by the World Health Organization. In the UK its citizens pay US$600 per year for health care. The US system is ranked 37th. The Canadian system is ranked 30th.  The right will cherry pick and provide negative stories about public health, but the 'big picture' is the US lacks behind all the major industrial nations of the world and US health care costs twice as much.
