Momma told me pick my battles carefully

The GOP made a big mistake attacking the Komen Center, Planned Parenthood, the pro-choice rights of women and contraception during the GOP primary.

The GOP took a 20-point hit after the smoke cleared with female voters.

The Young Turks have a "vagina monologue"

John McCain was on Meet the Press this morning and said the Republicans need to get off of the topic of contraception. Some pundits believe Obama set a trap for the GOP on this issue.

Since the GOP started attacking Planned Parenthood, passed invasive abortion laws, and Rush Limbaugh slurred Sandra Fluke, the GOP has lost 15 per cent of its female base.

No one talks about the Fox News "War on religion" anymore, it now the Republican "War of Women"

Washington Whispers: Santorum's candidacy likely to hurt GOP

R. Clarke Cooper, is the the executive director of Log Cabin Republicans.

Cooper thinks Rick Santorum's role in the presidential race could be a major blow to the Republican party even though he is unlikely to win the nomination,.

It is a concern on the long-term view. If voters see my party as intolerant or not relevant, that is going to be hard to recover from.

Cooper has suggested that social issues will not resonate with independents.

Rightardia agrees. Social conservatives like Santorum and Newt Gingrich who are playing to religious fudmanetalists will lose the middle.

The economy is paramount, not issues like contraception and abortion. Both are issues that are likely to alienate many female voters.
