Washington Whispers: Week 121 maintains the afterglow from the Osama take down

No one seems to care that Obama refused to release the Osama death photos. Al-Qaeda indicated their leader was dead the following day and said his blood would not be spilled in vain.  Al-Qaeda followed up with an attack that killed 800 Pakistanis.

Washington Whispers: UK Defense cuts worry Washington

London is considering a massive 20 percent in military spending cuts and a huge slash in active Army troops.

Washington is growing fearful that its best ally won't be able to fill gaps in the Pentagon's war plans.

Other nations might follow Britain's example unless the White House can convince 10 Downing Street to blunt the cuts.

This is not surprising because the UK pulled out of Iraq in July 2009. There are only 9500 UK troops in Afghanistan under the authorization of the UN.

A budget cut under the circumstances makes sense. It is curious that Tony Blair,  a Labour leader would back the US in the invasion of Iran and the Tory (conservative) leader David Cameroon wants to slash defence. European politicians are a breed apart.

Washington Whispers: Obama gets B+ in week 61

We would expect a solid A or even an A+ this week. Barack Obama was able to accomplish what seven other presidents were not. He is truly a transformational president.

Senator Jim Demint (R-SC) said "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him."

As it has turned out, the GOP has been on the receiving end of a historic defeat. Since they put all of their eggs in the health care basket defeat, all they have been left with is egg on their face.
