SNL: It's Christmas Time for the Jews

I remember this old Robert Smigel SNL animation. with a big Motown sound and thought it was really well done.

Christmas Time for the Jews from Saturday Night Live a very funny musical with a very catchy tune that has become a Christmas classic.

‘Nothing I’ve Said In Past Should Be Any Indication Of My Positions In Future’

Mittens said on SNL:

In my defense, that was a comment I made during a Republican primary debate. That’s like judging a person’s behavior while they are pledging a fraternity. you can’t hold a man — or a woman — to what he — or she — said at a Republican primary debate. I want to make it clear: When I said we should get rid of FEMA, it was sunny.

SNL Cold Open: Fox and Friends revisited

Saturday Night Live opened with “Fox and Friends,” featuring Taran Killam as cable news personality Steve Doocy. He was joined by Gretchen Carlson, played by Vanessa Bayer, and Brian Kilmeade, played by Bobby Moynihan.

The topic was typical: What  was what Obama was doing wrong lately? Rupert Murdoch, the owner of fox News, was also interviewed.

The Republican Debbie Downer Party of Mittens

The approach of the GOP toward Obama

The US is not out of the woods yet but the economy is making a comeback and unemployment is dropping. Do the Republicans deserve any credit?

No, they don't. The GOP tried 'to break" Obama from the gitgo, to use an old slaver term.

The "Do Nothing" 112th congress had the lowest favorability in history of the Gallup Poll and the Republicans  in the Senate have demanded a 60 vote  cloture vote every time a bill hits the Senate floor.

It is amazing as much progress has occurred under the circumstances.

There aren't any compassionate conservatives or moderates left in the GOP with the exception of Susan Collins. Olympia Snowe is retiring because she is tired of the lack of bi-partisanship.

Snowe recently said:

Unfortunately, I do not realistically expect the partisanship of recent years in the Senate to change over the short term. So at this stage of my tenure in public service, I have concluded that I am not prepared to commit myself to an additional six years in the Senate.

Mitt Romney said this after his victories in Arizona and Michigan:

He’s (Obama) had his chance. It’s time for him to get out of my way and leave the path clear for another one-term president.

And for that, President Obama has to take responsibility. He has been in office since 2009. He promised to turn the economy around. But almost three years later, it is clear that his policies haven’t worked for me, even though I pay 15 percent on my earnings and I drive a Mustang and a Chevy pickup truck. And my wife Ann drives a couple of Cadillacs.

Romney's comment are interesting because he sees himself as a one term president.   If you know about his history as governor of Massachusetts, you can understand why.  Romney vetoed 844 pieces of legislation, with more than 700 overridden. He would be the "President of No" if elected and as in Massachusetts. His presidential reelection would be unlikely. Romney left MA as governor with a 30 per cent favor ability rating.

What are the likely outcomes of electing Romney  presidency"

  1. George Soros has suggested that a Romney presidency would be little different from an Obama presidency. However, Rightardia suspect Romney would veto bills more frequently, creating even more grid lock.
  2. Romney, who has a minuscule amount of foreign policy experiences may provide unconditional support of Israel which could lead into a bloody middle eastern regional war and even a world war that would result in a stalemate at best. Whoops, another $ one trillion down the defense drain.
  3. He would also be more belligerent with China and order Department of the Treasury to list China as a currency manipulator and the Department of Commerce to assess countervailing duties on Chinese imports
  4. Romney would reverses the executive orders issued by President Obama on organized labor. Of course, when GW bush was president he filled the NLRB with GOP partisans who ignored labor complaints.
  5. Romney would try to end "ObamaCare" and return authority for medical care to the states. This is a canard because the Obama administration has been providing waivers to states on medical care. Rightardia  bleives the federal government should  retain over-site of medical care to assure some basic uniformity in the Us medical system,
Rightardia has been talking to doctors and one was an excellent primary care doctor. We asked her about the effect of the affordable health Care Act. She indicate that so far it had little impact on her practice.

Of course, the Republican exaggeration was that Obama was socializing medical care and that US medical care system would end as we know it.

SNL: The Cosby Obama Show

It was great to see Maya Rudolph back on SNL. Rudolph did the first ever parody of Michele Obama. Maya now has three children and her opener, "Do you want to funk with me," was hilarious.

As the Huffington Post writer, Katia McGlynn of the Huffington Post noted in her article about the Cosby Obama skit, "we definitely didn't see this coming."

Hulu wiill streams other SNL videos unless you turn Autoplay off before the next video starts. The option is in the upper right hand corner of the frame.

SNL: Mittens is just like you

Jason Sudeikis as Mittens explains the Romney campaign strategy.

The dog in the scene cannot be Seamus because that dog ran away years ago. The dog traveled down the road at high speed in a carrier atop the family vehicle during a Romney road vacation.

The story was like scene out of one of the Chevy Chase Vacation movie series. The poor dog got scared and relieved itself all over the back window of the vehicle. Mittens stopped and hosed down the dog.

No wonder that the dog ran away later.

Funny or Die: Victoria Jackson Extra Interview Footage

Victoria Jackson was a natural on SNL as a dumb blonde. Need we say more about that.

She was with SNL for six seasons, a time when Dennis Miller was still funny.

She has received attention as a vocal critic of President Barack Obama, as an active participant in the Tea Party movement. She is also a Birther and a vocal proponent of Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy theories.

In this video she claims Democrats are proponents of the devil.  Jackson was raised by devout Christian parents in a home without a television.

Online College.org: 10 All-Time Funniest SNL College Skits

Rightardia was contracted by Online College.org and asked if we would share one of their articles. We are happy to oblige.
 February 9th, 2011

Love it, hate it or tout the more common variation of "loved the old seasons, but it just got terrible,"

Saturday Night Live has still left an impression on American pop culture in its startling 36-season history.

Considering its age, it probably comes as no surprise that the writers and cast have, over the years, wrung humor out of the absurdities of college life.

This list can only post up whatever videos are available online, so if viewers find a favorite skit missing chances are it probably wasn't posted.

1. "Jarret's Room": Straight from the dorm room of Jimmy Fallon's dreadlocked perpetual junior comes a series parodying webcam shows and the people who love making them.

These slackers possess no sense of irony or self-awareness, spouting off some truly execrable jokes and finding them the epitome of all that is comedy.

Sean William Scott makes an appearance in this instalment as a loudmouthed ladies' man with an affinity for "keg-GER[s]."

2. "Spring Break Cold Open": Amy Poehler's "women's studies with a concentration in feminist literature" major was excited to come back from Cancun, only to find a $10 in her…well…just watch the video.

Some of the characters intentionally come off as rather grating, satirizing the faux-empowerment and voluntary exploitation classy(?) college ladies display on spring break vacations.

3. "Alec Commencement Monologue": The indomitable Alec Baldwin gave his alma mater New York University's 2010 commencement address, and they bestowed upon him an honorary doctorate in fine arts.

Now tied with Steve Martin for most stints hosting SNL, a fact which he exploits for some lovely nuggets of fun times, the newly minted "Dr. Alec Baldwin, OBGYN" decides to poke fun at his own graduation speech.

And making sure to include almost every single cliche along the way, of course.

4. "Fraternity": By this point, the thickheaded frat boy stereotype has become well-trod comedy trope, and true to form, SNL takes it to its logical conclusion.

Hapless pledge Andy Samberg has to add up a water bill, tie shoes, read letters from mommy, explain where babies come from, translate soda cans, answer "What's an Obama?" and other simple feats for acceptance into Epsilon Lambda Omega.

5. "Roomies": Though these roommates may not live in a dorm, every college students know a pair like them.

Girlish women who gab and cuddle constantly with one another, inundate their friends with inside jokes they just don't get, get between romantic relationships and experience separation anxiety when away from one another for too long.

As per usual, the television staple puts its own extreme satirical spin on the phenomenon.

6. "The Falconer: College": After his master ends up trapped beneath a fallen tree, Donald the Falcon seeks the assistance of College of Environmental Science and Forestry's Dean of Log Removal.

They end up at a sorority party instead, and regardless of what one thinks about the rest of the skit, the sight of a poorly-constructed bird pumping a keg makes a silly little visual.

7. "University of Westfield Online": "Internet college," diploma mills and for-profit schools, like pretty much everything else that ever is, was and very well could be, end up receiving plenty of pokes courtesy of the SNL cast.

Most of the humor stems from the educational and professional stigmas that still surround attending online universities and classes.

8. "Father Guido Sarducci's Five Minute University": Don Novello's errant, eccentric priest cropped up numerous times on SNL and plenty of other movies and television programs since his "birth" in the late 1970s.

Here, he sums up the near-universal college education experience and how it impacts alumni years after graduation with eerie accuracy.

9. "Under 21": This skit may not be about college so much as making fun of a common occurrence amongst younger students — about as close as it gets is mention of a dorm.

Even though things end about as awkwardly and abruptly as most of the show's modern-day offerings, it's still a relatively chuckle-worthy, over-the-top take on the scenario.

10. "Sculpture Class": Art students at Morris County Community College end up dealing with a ragged model who enjoys his nudity (and sharing intimate details of Hepatitis tests) a wee bit too much.

Will Ferrell at his grotesque manchild finest.
