Italy's Sex-for-Parliament Scandal

The Times of London reports that Patrizia D'Addario, the prostitute at the center of the scandal, has said that the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi offered her a seat in the European Parliament.

Last week, D'Addario released tapes and transcripts that purportedly contained pillow talk between D'Addario and Berlusconi. She has previously said that she made two visits to Berlusconi's Sardinian villa last year in October and November.

On the first occasion, the businessman who invited her to the villa paid her about $1,400, she said, but on the second occasion Berlusconi promised to help her resolve an issue with a building permit, but instead offered her the Parliament seat.

PM Silvio Berlusconi fails to report 30 Phoenician tombs on his property

Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi has failed to declare the presence of 30 ancient tombs on his land, according to newly published recordings.

The recordings allege Mr Berlusconi told prostitute Patrizia D'Addario of 30 Phoenician tombs at his Sardinia villa. Ms. D'Addario claims to recorded the prime minister while she was servicing him in Belusconi's villa bedroom in Rome.

The tombs date from 300BC, a man said to be Mr Berlusconi was heard saying.This is clearly a violation of Italian antiquities law.

Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi gets kinkier and kinkier

Editor's Note: The Italian premier reportedly skipped an appearance at a US-Italy event marking the election of President Barack Obama to be with the prostitute. The premier also said "I'm paler than Mr Obama, because it's been so long since I went sunbathing. He's more handsome, younger and taller."

Patrizia D'Addario, a prostitute identified in Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi's sex scandal dismissed his claims that he did not know her. She had told La Repubblica that spent a night with Berlusconi followed by an "intimate" breakfast.

Patrizia D'Addario indicated Berlusconi might have been confused because "there were so many other young women who looked just like me" at the parties he threw at his residence.

Prosecutors in Bari have questioned D'Addario and other women as part of a probe into a local businessman accused of being then premier's pimp.

The businessman, Giampaolo Tarantini, has said the women were only reimbursed for their travel expenses. Most of the women were paid about US$1400 to attend the party which is lavish reimbursement for travel.

Mr Berlusconi has told gossip magazine Chi he has never paid for sex and in an interview. This is true because he used Giampaolo Tarantini to pimp for him.

D'Addario told La Repubblica newspaper that she attended two parties at Mr Berlusconi's Roman home, including one at which she said there were 20 young women, including two known lesbian prostitutes, who flocked around the premier as if they were at a "harem."

"Actually, harems are serious things that I know well because I've been to Dubai three times," said D'Addario.

She said she danced with the premier to Frank Sinatra's "My Way" during the party. She said she spent that night, November 4, with Mr Berlusconi. The premier reportedly skipped an appearance at a US-Italy event marking the election of President Barack Obama to be with the prostitute.

D'Addario recorded her encounter with the premier and has turned the tapes over to Bari prosecutors. Prosecutors have not yet commented on the claim.

D'Addario denied Mr Berlusconi's claims she was paid to expose him. She received €1,000 from Tarantini for her attendance at an October 15 party, but was not paid for the November 4 encounter and instead received the promise Mr Berlusconi would intervene in a land dispute. When Berlusconi reneged on his promise to help her, she came forward.

D'Addario said after she confided in an acquaintance that she had recorded proof of her encounter with the premier, her house was robbed.

She said thieves made off with her computer, music CDs, lingerie and designer clothes - including the Versace dress she wore the night of November 4.

Berlusconi denies paying for a prostitute

Silvio Berlusconi, Italy's prime minister, has denied allegations he paid prostitutes to attend parties at his official residences.

"I have never paid a woman," Berlusconi told Chi magazine, in an interview published on Wednesday.

Editor's note: This is a true statement because the old lecher has a pimp who pays the women.

"I've never understood what satisfaction there is other than that of conquering [a woman]," he said.

The 72-year-old's credibility as a leader has been undermined in recent weeks by a string of scandals involving young women, which came to light after his wife filed for divorce.

Patrizia D'Addario, a model at the center of the latest claims, said she was paid $1,386 to attend a dinner at Berlusconi's Rome residence, along with a number of other young women, in what she described as a "harem".

She told an Italian newspaper she returned a few weeks later to spend the night with the prime minister, and that she had tapes to prove it.

Another woman who accompanied the model to Berlusconi's residence told newspapers that D'Addario said she slept with the premier, but had not asked for money because she was more keen on favors to obtain building permits.

The second woman has also said Berlusconi presented her with rings and necklaces he designed himself, as well as cash.

But Berlusconi, who is coming under increasing political pressure over the scandals, said D'Addario was "very well paid" to make the allegations, prompting an investigation into a local businessman who is accused of recruiting and paying the woman.

The opposition and the influential Catholic Church have demanded the prime minister clear up the facts.

The latest scandal comes after Berlusconi denied having sex with an 18-year-old, and accusations from his wife that he "frequents minors".

The prime minister has accused the media of mounting a smear campaign before the G8 summit, which he is hosting next month.

Berlusconi didn't know girls were prostitutes

(ROME) A businessman who pimped for the Prime Minister of Italy apologized to the premier for having contributed to a new scandal.

Giampaolo Tarantini said that Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi didn't know the ladies of the night 'expenses' were paid.

Three women have told Italian media that they partied at the premier's residence last fall and in January. Tarantini procured the women for the prime minister.

The first, Patrizia D'Addario, who is a high-end prostitute from Bari, told Corriere della Sera last week that she was paid US$1,400 to attend a party in October 2008 at the premier's residence in Rome. She had a sleep over on Nov 4 with Silvio Berlusconi.

Barbara Montereale, also known as 'long thighs' told La Repubblica that she too attended the PM's party, and then another at Berlusconi's Sardinian villa in mid-January.

For that party, Montereale said she received US$1,400 from Tarantini and another envelope with cash from the premier himself after she confided she was having problems raising an infant alone. She stressed she wasn't a prostitute and didn't have sexual relations with the premier. She claims to be a 'hostess.'

A third woman, Lucia Rossini, told La Repubblica she also attended the Nov 4 party, though she wasn't paid or offered a candidacy. Rossini and Montereale both received jewelry from Berlusconi.

All three have been questioned by Bari police reportedly investigating Tarantini for corruption concerning contracts for his health care business

He said he invited the women to the parties because he wanted to present a "bella figura" - a good impression - to Berlusconi.

"It's absolutely beyond discussion that Premier Berlusconi could have been aware of my reimbursements" to the women, said the Prime Minister's pimp.
