MSNBC: Secret GOP meeting to take down Obama

Ben Stein Says Obama isn't smart

Ben Stein put his foot in his mouth when he claimed Obama isn't a smart president. Stein then compared Obama to Nixon, one of the brightest presidents.

Nixon was a highly intelligent president and polls showed he had a 20 point lead going into the the 1976 election cycle.

However, he sent his "plumbers" into the Watergate Hotel to break into the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters to steal Democratic campaign plans.

The plumbers were caught breaking into the DNC and Nixon was implicated with the plan.

Nixon was forced to resign in disgrace under the threat of impeachment. He was bright but apparently had judgment problems. The Watergate break-in was unnecessary .

Nixon would have won the re-election had the Watergate incident not occurred.

Lawrence O'Donnell said this about Steins' comments:

Ben and Barack have similar academic credentials. They went to the same college, Columbia. Ben went to Yale Law School, Barack went to Harvard Law School. [...] and Barack was not just a member of the Harvard Law Review, he was the president of the Harvard Law Review. Ben, I’m afraid, didn’t make the Law Review cut at Yale. So Barack Obama’s academic distinction is not just higher than Ben Stein’s, it is higher than every president who has been elected in my lifetime.

Lawrence O'Donnell goes after Romneys for being out-of-touch

Mediaite was upset Lawrence O'Donnell attacked Ann Romney for wearing a $1000 t-shirt.

According to Wonkette, the top also came with matching pants.

Mediaite thinks O'Donnell created a massive head ache for himself by attacking Ann. Meghan McCain aggressively defends Ann Romney.

The actual clip attacked the Romneys for being out-of-touch with mainstream Americans.
