The Middle Class has been the target of Republican class warfare since the Reaganomics of the 1980s.
The other part of the GOP class warfare programs is to attack women , blacks, Hispanics, immigrants and LGBT groups as welfare cheats or as undesirables.
This takes away the middle class focus on the excesses of the affluent exemplified by the tax tables in the Bush tax cuts.
