I'm not a lobbyist, just a citizen
Under pressure from Romney, Newt Gingrich released his contract with Freddie Mac. It showed he was hired by the Freddy Mac office in charge of lobbying.
The contract, for one year with Freddie Mac, showed the Gingrich Group was paid $300,000 in 2006.
So was Gingrich a lobbyist? He was hired as a consultant to a lobbying office probably to skirt lobbying laws.
He might be more appropriately described as an "influence-peddler."
