Mitt Romney tried to shift the focus on his proposed $10,000 bet debate with Rick Perry by attacking Newt's "government earned wealth" in an interview with CBS news. Mittens said:
Newt Gingrich has wealth from having worked in government. He’s a wealthy man, a very wealthy man. If you have a half a million dollar purchase from Tiffany’s, you’re not a middle class American.
According to Wikipedia, Gingrich and his wife had a net worth of at least $6.7 million in 2010.
Romney and his wife had a net worth of between $190 and $250 million in 2007 and there is an additional blind in the name of the Romneys' children and grandchildren that was valued at between $70 and $100 million the same year.
