DI: God is on my side now

This article is interesting article and warns people about politicians who claim god has talked to them. Rick Perry claims God told him to dismantle social security. See http://dangerousintersection.org/2011/08/16/god-is-on-my-side-no/

Perry believes, for example, the Social Security system, is a “failure” that “we have been forced to accept for more than 70 years now. ”

Perry thinks it should be scrapped and that each state should be allowed to create, or not create, its own pension system.

Perry also includes Medicare in his list of programs “the states could substantially better operate.” He suggests that each governor should be “given the freedom from the federal government to come up with his own innovative ways [of] working with his legislature to deliver his own health-care innovations to his citizens.”

Perry is, of course, the governor that talked about seceding from the union and now wants to expand the power of the states. BTW most federal programs are actually run by the states and the federal government provides funds to the states to operate these programs.

Rightardia's impression of Social security is that it is extremely efficient, unlike the bloated Veterans Administration. You really don't want to fix something that isn't broken.

Teutonic cross used on NAZI aircraft

Prior to World War 2, the Germans though that God was on their side against the atheist communists. They painted Teutonic crosses on their aircraft and tanks.  Their religious beliefs didn't save them from the Red Army.

We think Christo-fascist politicians like Michelle Bachman, Mike Huckabee and Rick Perry are dangerous. These people may believe they are divinely inspired and infallible.

We don't need another president like GW Bush who preferred "gut checks" to reason. Indeed, we don't need another dumb ass boy scout from Texas as president.
