The Reagan legacy

Yes, the US paid the Taliban about $50 million per year to keep the poppy trade under control which the Taliban did effectively.

When the Taliban refused Bush's ultimatum to hand over Osama bin Laden, the US invaded Afghanistan and used the former drug lords of the Afghanistan, "The Northern Alliance," to front the intervention.

We now have record amounts of Afghan heroin and opiates on the US streets which funds the Taliban resistance movement.

What goes around, comes around!
