Haaretz: Hacked Fox News Twitter account falsely reports Obama assassination

A series of Fox News tweets say president shot twice in Iowa restaurant and wishes his successor Joe Biden good luck.

The Fox News Twitter feed has reportedly been hacked Monday, with a series of tweets announcing that President Barack Obama had been assassinated.

The tweets announced that Obama had been shot dead were sent by @foxnewspolitics at approximately 2am local according to the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper.

The first tweet announced:

The president is dead.

and was followed by a second tweet that describing the nature of the attack.

Barack Obama has just passed. The President is dead. A sad 4th of July, indeed. President Barack Obama is dead… Nearly 45 minutes ago, he was shot twice in the lower pelvic area and in the neck; shooter unknown. Bled out. 

We wish @joebiden the best of luck as our new President of the United States. In such a time of madness, there's light at the end of tunnel.
