Far Left Side: How Adam got Eve

According to the ancient Canaanite and Judaic traditions, the first god, Elohim or El, which is in both a singular and plural form, was both a male and female deity. Elohim created a god and a goddess, Yahweh and Asherah respectively,  but King Joseph or Josiah suppressed the Asherah cult around 600 BCE.

So Judaism wasn't initially monotheistic. The concept in the bible that man was created before women is absurd.

This idea worked well for men who accepted as gospel the middle eastern belief that men should have primacy over women.
