High speed rail: Good enough for China, but not for Florida

The Federal government tried to help Florida with a high speed rail line, but Governor Rick Scott turned the money down destroying more than 100,000 jobs.

Scott thinks Florida will become a shipping hub for larger new container ships that transit the Panama Canal.

The harbor in Miami would have to be dredged to make Miami attractive for these ships. Meanwhile the Chinese are talking with Columbia about making a rail link there that would bypass the Panama canal altogether.
