Are children a luxury in the US?

Rightardia has written about the rise of the Dog People. We see as many young couples with dogs in Central Florida as we see those with children

It will cost a middle-class U.S. family about $222,360 ($286,050 adjusted for inflation) to raise a child born in 2009 to the age of 17. This is according to the report Expenditures on Children by Families 2009, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The US is not producing enough children while in China, they had to restrict families to one child for many years. Due to Republican efforts to privatize schools and the slowed population growth, many public schools in Pinellas County and other Florida counties are now closed.

Because the US is not producing enough children, our country will depend more and more upon immigrant labor, something the GOP has been trying unsuccessfully to control.

The US census confirmed that the biggest  following population sector is Hispanics and latins. Hispanics are now the biggest minority in the US.

Rightardia believes the strong family traditions in the Hispanic community may have a lot to do with this growth.
